Abstract
The need for skill acquisition, self reliance and development to reduce poverty has become inevitable since government alone cannot be relied upon. The purpose of this study is to explore the challenges facing technical and vocational education, training and entrepreneurship education towards job creation and national development in Nigeria. The study identified: finance, lack of infrastructure, frequent changes in educational policy, lack of interest by youths in vocations and insecurity as major challenges militating against technical and vocational education, training and entrepreneurship education towards job creation and national development in Nigeria. The study recommends that relevant stakeholders should create awareness of the benefits of TVET and entrepreneurship education to the youth and the various levels of government should address some of their short comings.
