Abstract
This study was carried out to assess the signal strength of Adamawa Television Corporation, Yola for improved national Open University of Nigeria Programme Implementation in Adamawa State. The study was an experimental research and the instrument used for data collection was ML518A Field strength meter. The data (i.e. measuring signal strength) were taken every 5km within Jimeta-Yola City and 30km outside the City, within 240km radius of the Base Station. Four research questions were addressed in the study. The result of the study indicated that Adamawa Television Corporation Signal is poorly received in a lot of places all over the state. Six factors were identified to be responsible for this, which includes the distance of receivers away from the transmitters, the height of the Base Station transmitting antenna and insufficient Booster Stations among others. The study therefore recommended among others that adequate modern transmitting facilities be provided to the corporation, the 5kw transmitter at Gombi Booster Station be replaced with 10kw transmitter and that the government should establish more Booster Stations at Strategic points in the state.
