Abstract
The paper assessed Business Pedagogical Content Knowledge (BPACK) Competencies Needs for Implementing Salesmanship Curriculum in Secondary Schools in Nigeria. The study had two objectives, two research questions and two null hypotheses. Descriptive survey design was employed in the study. The researchers targeted the entire 114 secondary school business teachers that attended 3rd National Conference organized by department of business education, Federal College of Education Potiskum, Yobe state in 2018. The instrument used for data collection was four rating scale (highly needed, needed, less needed and highly not needed) structured questionnaire titled Business Pedagogical Content Knowledge Competencies Needs (BPACKCN). To instrument was validated by four experts in business education and educational administration in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Fourty students were used for pilot study. Data collected from the test which were subjected analysis Cronbach alpha gave reliability coefficient of 0.91. The researchers and research assistants distributed the instrument at registration point and retrieved them at the point of collection of conference certificate. The main data collected were coded into Statistical Package of Social Science. The package was used to run descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation for answering the research questions while Chi-square was employed to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The study revealed that among others needs content skills in area of sequences instruction, anticipates students misconception and ability to selects or designs practical sets that includes salesmanship in secondary schools. It was recommended among others that both the federal and state government should encourage Salesman teachers in secondary schools to go for in service training that will enable them to improve their content and pedagogical knowledge on subject area.
