Abstract
Effective learning depends on the quality of teaching, instructional materials available and students??(TM) awareness to Information Communication Technology (ICT) facility available to them in the school. ICT has change the way we do things in all aspect of human endeavors. Information and Communication Technology has reformed the way we do things. Information and Communication Technology refers to the hardware, software, networks and media for the collection, storage, processing, transmission and presentation of information. The purpose of this study was to investigate the Influence of Information and Communication Technology among male and female High-Achieving Students in Basic Science at Upper Basic Schools. Kano State, Nigeria. Survey Research Design was adopted. The population of the study was 2503 students of Basic Science at Upper Basic Schools in Kano State a sample of 100 students were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The instrument for data collection was adapted. The data collected were descriptively analyzed using mean and standard deviation, while the hypotheses were tested using independent sample t-test statistical tool. One null hypothesis developed for the study was accepted at 0.05 level of significance. The finding revealed significance difference between influence of the use ICT on the academic performance of male and female of HighAchieving Students in Basic Science at Upper Basic Schools in Kano State, Nigeria. It was recommended that state ministry of education should provide secondary schools in Bauchi state with quality ICT facilities in order to promote quality teaching and learning in Basic Science at Upper Basic Schools in Kano State, Nigeria. Supervisors should ensure regular supervision to enhance effective use of those ICT facilities in the teaching and learning in the state
