Abstract
The study assessed the level of acceptance of students of Technical and Vocational Education in Catholic secondary schools in Edo State. To be able to address this, two research questions were answered and one hypothesis tested. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study was 1424 students used for the study. From the population of the study, a sample of 356 students representing 25% of the population was used. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire. A 4-point rating scale was used to collect data ranging from Very High Extent to Very Low extent. The instrument was validated by three experts with a reliability coefficient of 0.69 with the use of Cronbach alpha. The researchers usedmean and standard deviation to answer the research questions, and a t-test was used to test the hypothesisat 0.05 level of significance. The finding revealed that students do not appreciate TVE in Catholic schools, Catholic beliefs influence student’s choice of TVE subjects as well as female vocational students do not differ from male vocational students in the appreciation of TVE. It was therefore recommended that the school authority should put in place measures to attract TVE in their schools to encourage students’ acceptance.
