This paper reviewed challenges in the application of ICT in the operations of public libraries in 

Nigeria. It highlights definitions of ICT, public library and its roles; and it further identifies specific 

ICTs and ICT application areas in public library operations. The paper identified some problems 

associated with the application of ICT facilities in public libraries in Nigeria and some useful 

suggestions on the way forward.
