Mapping involve carrying out observation of the natural and manmade features on the earth surface and represents them in a form that is comprehensible to the final users, either as a chart or as a map. Data for this work was obtained through primary source of data involved field observation and oral discussion with some of the community residence, while the secondary sources of data includes text books, journals, published and unpublished articles. The methodology is with the help of data obtained from Satellites imageries, Base Map, data collected by direct field observations using Global Positioning System; maps such as Slope map, Contour map, Digital Elevation Model were produced. However, some of the data acquired were also analysed in ArcGIS version 10.5 environments. Hence, production of the final Topographic map, Slope map, Contour map, Digital Elevation Model of the existing gullies in the study area was a resulted. In addition data obtained from the field using digital survey instruments were processed using the relevant software applications revealed that the Gully erosion has been a major threat and a natural disaster to Kafin Tafawa community and the rate of its gullies are alarming. Among other problem is the fact that the gullies are about to cut-off the road that connect Bauchi and Plateau State. The gully incident has affected the neighbourhood, and hindered social-economic growth and development of the town. It affected lives; damage many physical infrastructures; and threatening roads, buildings, fences, and the likes. By the slope analysis made however, that is in creation of slope map, contour map, Digital Elevation Model, and imageries of the study area. The results also shows that gully erosion had ravaged Kafin Tarawa, and more harm would be done, if no effective measure is taken to stop this overwhelming effect. The research therefore, recommends that all runoff of water should be channelled to a less risk areas, people of the areas should be sensitized on the negative effect of gully erosion and its control by planting canopy trees and other vegetal covers.
